Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, lives only news from Eurovision song contest during the last days. But Ukrainian botanists didn’t have right to forget very important date – 150th years from birthday of the famous botanist, Academician Oleksandr Vasyliovych (Aleksandr Vasiljevich) Fomin, who was a co-founder the Academy of Sciences in Ukraine, Ukrainian and Russian Botanical Societies as well as to made very important contribution in investigation of East European and Caucasian flora. Moldova is a small country which is located not so far from the geographic center of Europe. However, it is enough hard to find modern botanical information about it, even in Wikipedia. Therefore, a group of Ukrainian botanists under egids of the green touristic project “Explore with us” has decided to visit the neighboring country for receiving of own impressions about Moldavian botanical gardens, parks and some natural areas. Today we would like to share our pictures and notes from a short trip to Moldova in pages of the Global Botanical Portal.
Fritillaria species are one from the most beautiful spring plants in Ukraine. Every April they give happiness to people, decorating our forests and meadows by fantastic blooming. So, the Global Botanical Portal wasn’t able to leave these plants without special attention.

Today we will travel to East Hungary through the Global Botanical Portal 🙂 Of course, the region is very interesting in historical and cultural aspects, but we will pay attention to some botanical centres there: two botanical gardens and a national park.
I have been in the part of Hungary for two times, and I have received a lot of knowladge and possitive impressions during these trips. Nowadays I will try to share some of them 🙂 Let’s go! 🙂

Take a stroll in woods and meadows, wander in only a few minutes from Alps to Caucasus, let Far-Eastern plants enchant you and feel the Tropical Rainforest with all your senses …” , – it is a citation from the cover page of the website of Berlin-Dahlem Botanical Garden and Botanical Museum, and it is true totally.
I would like to share my impressions from a visit of the amazing place in Berlin through the Global Botanical Portal. The Global Botanical Garden was going to post information about one of the largest botanical garden of Europe today, but yesterday this plan was changed. The reason is wonderful blooming of Corydalis species which I could watch in forests near Kyiv. So, it is the best time to share something information and pictures about species of the genus from Ukrainian natural flora.
Romania is a neighbor of motherland of the Global Botanical Portal, but the country isn’t popular tourism direction in Ukraine as Poland or Hungary. I can’t identificate reasons of it for sure, probably, they are a consequence of complex problems: political, historical, infrastuctural etc. Nevertheless Romania has a lot of interesting natural and architectural objects which will remain indifferent no one. Today I would like to talk about three Romanian botanical gardens in Iasi, Bucurest and Cluj-Napoca, which I had a opportunity to visit and which I liked 🙂
